Not all children learn the same way! That is a fact some are more audio-visual learners others more technical. Here are some resources to creatively engage them and all other children.
There are lots of free resources online to educate children in a wholesome way. You can check out the latest episode of The Adventures of J and T created by my two children above. Encourage your children to make a short clip themselves. My children used Goanimate to create their adorable characters. You can use this to reinforce a lesson if your are a teacher, or home school parent, or just for fun. Do encourage my kids and become a follower of J and T!
Another great free resource that my own children have enjoyed for years is Story Nory. Free audio stories of all genres. Each story is read in a clear, entertaining voice and there are so many of them you are bound to find one that you and your child will love. Click on the frog to get to their site. He is so cute!
Many kids are keen on video games. Why not introduce them to programming and allow them to create their own games. My son has begun using Scratch, which was developed by a team at the famed MIT. Scratch is absolutely free and uses a smart method of pre programmed blocks of code which children combine to create their own programs. It challenges them to figure out how to create the correct combinations or codes to get their creations to work. Programming teaches discipline, creativity and diligence. Visit Scratch here.
Finally I just want to share a little chat about motivating students I had via Twitter with Connections Academy – a virtual school.
